Ritual Cloth is innovative textile art based on traditional techniques used in making sacred cloth. Inspired by antique rugs and textiles, the artist has developed a personal lexicon from ancient symbols to express deep inner meaning connected to the mysterious hidden nature of the Divine.  Sacred cloth on the ground is the medium on which divine feet may walk upon, but not touch the earth. Hung vertically, it is a sacred doorway on a path of initiation to higher dimensions of experience. As a garment it transforms the wearer into a being of rank and splendor.

Color and form are metaphorical in meaning. Mystical, non-verbal language has developed into a symphony that can be understood and experienced by the viewer. The process is both predetermined with specific abstract symbols, and accidental with the fluidity of color application, making each piece unique.The images are elusive and ephemeral. Power symbols are brought forth from subconscious processes. It is through the medium of dreams that the forces of nature and the Divine make their will known. The act of creating artwork is a visual form of prayer.
